Who Cleans the Shared Areas in a Share House? Do Residents Have Cleaning Duties?

No! At TESEN, residents are not assigned cleaning duties for the shared areas.

Shared spaces such as the kitchen, living room, showers, and toilets are regularly cleaned by TESEN staff. The frequency varies depending on the property, but cleaning is carried out one to three times a week.

Because shared spaces are used by many people, we believe cleanliness is an important part of comfortable share house living.

That’s why we don’t leave the cleaning of common areas entirely up to our residents. By having our staff clean the houses regularly, we work to maintain a clean and comfortable living environment for everyone.

Of course, we still ask each resident to clean up after themselves and help keep shared spaces tidy after use.

Every Wednesday, our staff also visit the houses as part of our “HOME GROWN” service. During these visits, residents can speak directly with our staff about any cleaning concerns or other questions about life in the share house.
